Welcome to the Adaptive Mindset. I'm Brett Gallant, cybersecurity thought leader and founder of Adaptive Office Solutions. Here, we don't just talk tech, we unlock the strategies, stories, and mindset shifts you need to stay secure, lead boldly, and thrive in a digital world. Let's get started. Welcome Today's episode is a reflection of a couple of common threads I've been talking about in the last week, two And it's centered around taking action. A lot of times we hold back on taking action. And the thing that I really want to share today that taking the most important transformational step that you can take. Like look at me, when I started my fitness journey, there was a couple, and I've started multiple times. I would start, stop, and not fully commit. But I fully embrace that if you need, when you want something, and you know it's important, that the key thing to remember is that execution is the solution in everything you do. So for me, it started with a pivotal moment was my coach's words that he said to me. When I said to Dave, I said, Dave, I don't have time to go to the gym. And he said, Brett, you need to tell me you own your own business and you can't get to the gym. That transformed me in that moment because that's when I decided that, hey, it's go time. It's time to find a solution. And what I did immediately was I started to execute and put incredible accountability around me. But there's other moments where we know we need to take action and we hold back. For example, there might be a business opportunity that you're going after or a phone call you need to make. And we hold back sometimes because there's that fear that we have those mental barriers that keep us from being successful or taking a shot. The biggest thing that holds us back is a lot of times we have fear being in the driver's seat. There's that, you know, perhaps you're like me, sometimes you avoid it in the past that it needs to be just perfect, or you need to be comfortable. Now, I've seen myself grow incredible leaps and bounds the last two to three years, getting on stages that I've never thought I would get on. Staying longer, getting networking in places where I wasn't comfortable. But that's where we need to take that shift. We got to break through those mental barriers, that mindset shift that you have the discipline to go after the things that are waiting for you. And for me, if I hadn't made some of these tremendous changes in my life, even like as of today, I've released 140 pounds, I would not be where I'm at had I not made that decision to execute on We need to really look at ourselves and say, where am I letting fear drive? Why am I not executing where I know I should? What mindsets, what beliefs are holding me back? And maybe it's a story that you've been telling yourself or a belief, or maybe it's some past trauma that you've had that just Or perhaps you just don't believe yet. But that's the time where you have to decide to execute anywhere. You just have to start. For example, I didn't want I have a gym session this afternoon, but I had this incredible routine where I just love getting out for or a workout. So I replaced my workout today in the morning to keep that routine by just doing cardio. I'm glad I put my sneakers on and started the car and went out in the cold. It was one of the best gifts I gave to myself this morning because it brought me clarity and the energy that I need to show up for this day. And oftentimes entrepreneurs, we don't put ourselves first. We put everybody else first and the last person that So we need to remember to put our own mask Take, like a loved one told me, you just got to peel off the bandaid and go. So whatever it is for you, peel off the bandaid. And so I want to give you a couple of practical tips on So number one, break some of these tasks or your fitness journey or a phone call or something that you need to do. Break it into smaller steps. Just keep it simple, start with the lead domino. Perhaps you can borrow what I did when I started my own fitness journey. Now I'm doing hour, hour and a half hikes, but at first I would go for multiple 10 to 20 minute walks. Take that example for even if it's fitness, go for a 10-minute walk three times a day or start with one. Or if you know you need to work on calling your clients or calling prospects, start with one or two in the morning and one or two in the afternoon. But most importantly, set a deadline, measure it, measure your improvement and celebrate, celebrate the quick win. So for example, if you get the consistently make the four calls a day over the week, celebrate it and share it with people, tell them what you're doing. Or if you're going out for a walk, celebrate it. Celebrate that momentum. Because those small quick wins are going to build the momentum in your belief system. The biggest thing that we often forget in life, and we need to remember this, it's so, so important, is that consistency compounds. When you keep showing up and you put those reps in, you put those sneakers on in the morning, you get out, like what I did, I went for a walk after my children got on the bus, you get out and go for that 10 minute or You're stacking the wins. You're building an identity. Just like me, I've built a new identity for who I am, who I get to show up, who I get to inspire, who I get to become every And then you can look back and say, just a fun little exercise you may want to consider doing is looking Dreaming for a bit and looking at the potential of who you are a year from now or five years from now and see what that version of you would And even look at the person who you were three years ago five years ago and what would they say to you. So. Keeping this episode today short. But I want you to really reflect that execution But most importantly, every big change that you do starts with a single act. And the biggest act that you can do is the decision to start, the decision to keep the promises to yourself and keep going. So I would love to hear from you. Love to hear you share what your own small steps on how you're putting execution first in your lives. And share this episode. We've unpacked an awful lot And I know the version of me two years ago, even five years ago, needed to hear this. And right now, I'm going to celebrate that I have at least grown enough that I can share And I just want to say that I'm so appreciative to be able to lead and do this podcast. We're getting close to one year in, and it's been a journey where first I held back on taking action on doing it. But it's been a journey that has given me so many blessings and had the wonderful opportunity to meet so many incredible people, incredible guests. And I'm looking forward to continuing and doing that. So with that, start with your small And love to hear from you. Have an incredible week, everyone. Take care.
