Welcome to the Adaptive Mindset. I'm Brett Gallant, cybersecurity thought leader and founder of Adaptive Office Solutions. Here, we don't just talk tech, we unlock the strategies, stories, and mindset shifts you need to stay secure, lead boldly, and thrive in a digital world. Let's get started. Welcome back to the Adaptive Mindset. Today, I have A line in the sand, if you will. When the stakes aren't high, you negotiate with your goals. I I've had massive wins in my transformation, my business, in so many areas of my life. I've been sitting at a good, comfortable place right now. in my health journey, gotten comfortable. I haven't gotten to the next phase to push through. And that's because I haven't made the stakes high And I'm not talking about the stakes you eat, the stakes about what happens if I don't hit my I've had huge success. I'm not the same guy I was when I was 349 pounds. The truth is I've been comfortable, like I said, and I'm sitting here in the 230s feeling safe. And that felt like good enough. But I had a realization this week that it's not good enough. It's not where I'm meant to be. So it's time for the next stretch to lock in what I started. I was speaking with my coach, one of my coaches, and I shared something with him and he said, that's not good enough. It has to be high enough. It has to be something you don't want to do. He suggested a few things. And the crazy thing is some of the things that he suggested that would be something I wouldn't want to do would be almost something I would want to do. So here's the deal. It's September 1st. I've already started my own mine two days ago, but here's what I'm putting out into the universe. By December 31st, right now I weigh 236, 236 pounds. By December 31st, I'm going to be 200. And every week and every month, there's going to be real consequences. I miss the check-in or I miss reaching those milestones along the way, I pay. I miss a milestone, I pay more. I miss the final goal, I pay$2,000 to the Toronto Maple Leafs Fan Foundation. And if you know me, you know that's pain, especially with the rivalry I have with my son. My son is a huge Toronto's fan and I am a huge Edmonton Oilers fan. On top of that, if I don't get it done, I'll be at a local arena in January in a giant baby Toronto Maple Leafs onesie with a sign, saying I missed my goal. That's not happening. I'm going to set the difference. I am going to post. I'm going to share my journey and get there. It's a non-negotiable. So I got my plan, got the coach, got the training, steps, water, sleep, tracking. I've been enabled AI as my personal assistant that I can keep the logs to keeping track of the milestones along the way. I know that this isn't easy, but the standards and the stakes I know I'm going to break through to the next evolution of where I am. I know this playbook. I've lived it. I've done it countless times again. Maybe perhaps you have done something similar where you've breaking through this mindset of what you had, what's not possible, and you've gotten comfortable. Countless times, even before when I started this whole transformation, I never thought I would lose the first 50 or release the first 50, because when you release something, you don't find, when you release it, it's gone forever. When you lose, you find it. So the big difference right now is the intensity. It's the lion in the sand. When I look back at all the other times where I've had huge success in my business, I've gotten to this point, this So I want each and every one of you that are listening, I invite Perhaps this can be your own journey, your own line of standing, whatever it is for you. Every Sunday, It's 7 p.m. Atlantic time, that's 6 Eastern time. I'm going to post an update. It'll be on my Instagram and my LinkedIn. If I miss, you'll see the receipt of where I've made the donation. If you see the progress, I hit it, you're going to see the progress. You can follow, call me out, or even join me. Why does this matter? It's not just about the weight. It's about the identity, who I am, who I'm becoming. It's about living at the standard that I expect of myself. I expect for myself as a father, a husband, business leader, a leader in the community, and just a human being. I'm not letting myself off the hook. I'm not going to negotiate with So, short episode today, 236.2 down to 200. Stakes are high, standards are higher, follow the journey, hold me to it, cheer me on, and maybe I'm not giving, by the way, I'm not giving any medical advice here. I'm just sharing what I know where I meant to be. So until next time, have a great week, everyone. Thank you. I appreciate you all. Thanks for tuning in to The Adaptive Mindset.
